I had to go to George Town, Penang Island, Malaysia for a medical check-up. After 2 years, my grave's disease was not getting better. My parents and my girl were going with me. Our flight stopped over at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. (KLIA) This new airport in the capital of Malaysia is modern, very clean, and huge. The distance between the arrival hall and the dining area was at least 1 km though. We had to walk all the way. The immigration pass was a pain. | |
It was relaxing to eat at the KLIA food court. The price of the meals was reasonable. I had Indian garlic naan and chicken tandoori. Everything was great until we realized that we had to transit not from Kuala Lumpur International Airport but via other airport in Subang (which was almost 50 km away).
We hopped into a cab (thanks Malaysia for making a good taxi system). It was at 8.30 pm and our flight was at 9.30 pm. The taxi driver drove at 120 km/hour. We reached the airport in Subang 10 minutes before the flight. The check in counter was closed and I had to convince the clerk to open it again so we could fly. It worked. We were running like thunderbolt.
Thanks goodness we didn't miss the flight and boarded the aircraft right away. Kuala Lumpur to Penang flight was 1 hour. We made it!
