After visiting the hospital yesterday, we headed to George Town heritage site. This is one of sites in Malaysia that is protected by the UNESCO. We visited the site by Rapid Penang bus by paying 1.4 MYR (0.5 dollar or 5.000 IDR). It was around 10 minutes bus ride from our hotel.
George town was founded in 1786 and was named after Britain's King George III. As you can probably guess, the heritage site is full of old buildings in Chinese architecture. Some of the buildings are turned into hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops, and even museums. I suggest you visit the site in night time because it is so uncomfortably hot to walk around the site in day time.
We passed a Buddhist temple when we walked around George town. It was not the famous temple there but we decided to take a look.
George town is also famous for its street art but we could only see two of them.
